Description: Oxana and Juri are Nenets who live of reindeer herding. The Nenets move gigantic herds of reindeer from summer pastures in the north to winter pastures just south of the Arctic Circle where temperatures plummet to -50C. The Nenets rely on traditional clothing. A Nenets man wears a Malitsa which is a coat made of around 4 reindeer skins, the fur being on the inside. In extreme cold conditions men wear yet another layer of reindeer fur, known as a Gus. The Gus has its fur on the outside. The women wear a Yagushka which has a double layer of around 8 reindeer skins and which is buttoned at the front. Both men and women wear reindeer skin boots tied up with a belt.

Country of Origin: Pakistan
Siera and Aarya are from the Kalash tribe in the Hindu-Kush area of Northern Pakistan. According to some scholars, the Kalash people are direct descendants of Alexander the Great's soldiers. The light skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes of many Kalash people provide an interesting evidence to their Caucasian origins. The Kalash are known for their unique way of dressing, especially the attire of their womenfolk. All women wear black robes called 'Piran' and it takes at least nine meters (almost 10 yards!) of cloth to make one dress. The women wear an extraordinarily large headgear called 'Kopus' embellished with buttons, beads and shells.
