Below - Country of Origin: BrazilDescription: Aniceto and Nakuahé belong to the Yanomami tribe. "Yanomami" means "people" in their language. In a village live around 80 people. They all live together in one house called “Yano.” Families live next to each other without partition walls. They do have their own fire-place around their hammocks. The Yanomami-indians paint their body and faces with red paint made out of the seeds of the urucu. The decorations are lines, dots, circles; mostly in animal patterns like snake or panther. When a child is young, the mother pierces little holes in the lips and ears for wooden sticks, feathers, flowers and leaves. |
