Rotraut Schrott

2010 Update - Just in our latest one of a kind custom order the "Turkish Bride" in black. Beautiful. We were honored to have Rotraut  personally attend our last annual on-line show in 2009 and many shows prior all the way from Germany. This year Rotraut has said she plans on only creating four of her masterpieces. We are excited that we should have another brand new doll by March (possibly during our Feb. on-line show). Be sure to contact kmalone@dollery.com for updates on her new pieces but if you are really interested in her work consider doing a custom order for a piece. We are almost booked up for this year already.

Rotraut will do work for this year's show. She also is working on custom orders. If you are interested in something specific be sure to email kmalone@dollery.com. "The Master" - Wow, do we love Rotraut's work ! Contact kmalone@dollery.com for further info or call 800-447-3655 out of state or 781-447-6677 in state Ma. Rotraut is shown here appearing in person at our 2008  and 2009 doll shows.  Rotraut has personally attended our last few doll shows from Germany. Rotraut is world renowned for her gorgeous one of a kind dolls. She attended the first doll show she ever did the USA over 25 years ago right here at the Dollery when she worked for Gadco who mass produced her work. Now, Rotraut only creates one of a kind work. She only makes about  10 dolls a year but in 2010 it will be just four! For further bio info email kmalone@dollery.com.   Make sure to email us your address and number for our free 24 page full color show catalogue highlighting our big show and featuring Rotraut and 40 other world renowned doll artists participating and or attending this year's show! If  you would like updates on her work email us your information as well.

Rotraut Schrott

February 2007 We got the two of the very best dolls at Magnum Opus we think...this new Korean Bride is drop dead gorgeous... she was our number one pick! Snow White....she is stunning and has been nominated for the one of a kind award of excellence for dolls over $2500.00 in the one of a kind category for 2007. This comes as no surprise though as Rotraut has many, many of these awards. Rotraut just attended our last doll and show plans to also attend our 2007 25th Anniversary doll show. We also have a couple other pieces available including a beautiful girl w/baby and another little baby. Don't miss them! Email kmalone@dollery.com for further details. Korean Bride - One of a Kind - Wow! Dollery Favorite - $8000.00

Detail on the Korean Bride straight from Rotraut -  SOLD

The Korean Bride wears a yellow underwear of taffeta with many flounces or valances (4) trimmed with braid trimmings, pearls and little golden buttons. The "kimono" is cream colored silk with trimmings of flowers and animals, framed with ribbons and golden threads, made a lot of work, also in the back. The buttons you see on Photo are sculpted and painted by me. The masks on head are sculpted, also painted by me, and shows the many faces of a Korean Bride. The whole doll is a real On-of-Kind, no molds. The dress is created by me. I bought the lion, an old one, on the flee-market, and I costumed him, while I made the woolen mane with pearls, and embroidered the face and more. The shoes are made of straw, typical Asian. I put on each two golden cords. The head does not turn. The size is 35 1/2. inches. The custom is, that the Korean Bride or the "Gak-Si" will be accompanied by "Bunk-Chung-Saja" the lion with a woolen mane. The wig is very long human hair.

2006 Update! We were honored to have Rotraut attend our last 2005 doll show in person all the way from Germany. This year  (2006) she will honor us again with a rare personal appearance. Rotraut didn't even show in NY this year. Rotraut is shown below at our last show. The stunning bride was created just for our show which sold immediately. Naema and Sali was also created especially for the Dollery. This stunning pair is very reasonably priced for Rotraut's work. Avid collector's familiar with Rotraut's work are aware that many of her individual dolls in the last five years have sold for 10K and this is a pair for just $7600.00. Rotraut attended her very first doll show in 1988 right here at the Dollery. This was her first appearance ever in the United States. She was sculpting for Gadco who were producing her work in porcelain and vinyl at the time. "Martina" was one of the biggest hits of the decade. When asked by the dolls magazines in the year 2000 what artists we thought would be known in the next millennium we did not hesitate to put Rotraut on our list. For years to get an original piece from Rotraut was not possible. After leaving Gadco about seven or eight years ago Rotraut decided to go back to her true love and create only her original work once again. We had been watching her work to find just the right piece ever since. We saw "Sarnicha" and "Baby Raghi" at toy fair in 2005 and just had to have her. She was a masterpiece and reasonably priced. Rotraut who is extremely modest and fair had adjusted her pricing to reflect the weakness of teh US dollar last year. Rotraut has designed a stunning double piece for our 2006 show not shown here yet (will be in our new show catalogue) and will have other surprises! Make sure to get on our mailing list for her work if you are interested in obtaining one of these museum quality works of arts. Email kmalone@dollery.com your address and number. You will receive a free copy of last years show catalogue, our new Spring flyer and our new 2006 24 page doll show catalogue in August highlighting this year's October show. Rotraut will attend once again!

Currently available is Naema and Baby Raghi - inquire on Angel. Also - new double piece available for show in October and others coming for October. You may also inquire on Rotraut's adorable individual babies. If you see a piece you love that has been sold in some cases a similar piece may be custom ordered but keep in mind each is a very unique one of a kind and most have antique fabrics. Email kmalone@dollery.com.

Call 800-447-Doll (3655) out of state or 781-447-6677 in state Ma for further information or to order Rotraut's work.
