New for 2009! Karen did not show at Idex but we will update you as soon as we get information on her new work. We have also updated our page with current availability. Please be sure to not that in addition to the 2008 smaller dolls Karen has done we still have just a couple of her large ooak dolls available in stock. Also - in some cases her earlier editions in porcelain in the larger sizes are still open so feel free to email kmalone@dollery.com for current availability and orders. ?We have sold out of our in stock larger porcelain dolls from her at this time but again in some cases custom orders ca still be done. 2008 Information: Shown below are the adorable little limited editions by Karen. Karen's editions are really small (usually under 15 pieces). The are reasonably price porcelain dolls hand made in Australia with her mother. We have carried Karen's work for many many years. She has visited the Dollery for numerous shows as well. See below for her new work.

About Karen: Karen works from her studio at home in Australia where she has been making dolls for over 15 years. She sculpts and paints each beautiful doll and her mother Jeanette creates the exquisite costuming of fine antique laces and hand-made leather shoes. Karen also creates many of the accessories that adorn these beautiful dolls. All the dolls have wigs of human hair or mohair fleece and fine glass paperweight eyes. In recent years she has started to do smaller dolls similar to her larger dolls from the last 15 years. These are perfect for the collector who is running out of space! It is also nice that the dolls are affordable for those who couldn't formerly purchase one of Karen's dolls. Karen began working in fimo one of a kinds in 1998. We have just one fimo left in stock now. She is currently still working in porcelain in her smaller dolls which is more similar to the dolls We were very pleased to have Karen attend our 15th, 16th and 18th doll shows all the way from Australia. Karen is featured here (above) at our 16th Annual Doll Show with the two Dollery Exclusives she created for us! Karen has also participated in our 17th, 19th, & 20th and 21st thru 24th shows. Emmie and Sarah (pink and white) sit in a handpainted (by me)
vintage leather collarbox, lined in silk velvet. Their dresses are
antique broderie anglaise, silk ribbons, hand crocheted cardigan (by me) Vintage flowers. Handmade swiss straw hat (also by me) trimmed with vintage flowers and netting. Swarovski crystals. I also made the teddy. Mohair wigs.

The larger girl in each pair has a 10 jointed all porcelain body-
jointed at head, shoulder, elbow, knee and hip as well as a waist
joint. The smaller girl has a jointed head/shoulderplate on a weighted cloth body. Arms and legs are porcelain to above the knee and elbow.

Zoe and Emmie pair (gold) Sit in a silk velvet lined Chinese style
wooden box with metal accents. Trimmed with purple/plum/burgundy toned velvet Hydrangea type blooms, Swarovski crystals and a beaded butterfly and tassel. Dresses are soft golden crinkle metallic tissue silk with metallic lace, human hair wigs tied with sparkling organdy ribbons in shades of purple.
